Agsafe’s training and education programs are designed to equip businesses in the agricultural chemical supply chain with the knowledge and skills required to safely manage agricultural and veterinary (AgVet) chemicals. Developed in alignment with federal and state regulations, our courses ensure participants receive up-to-date, relevant information to maintain compliance, protect employees and customers, and safeguard the environment.

Agsafe’s structured training framework supports professionals at every stage, whether they are beginning their certification journey or maintaining it through ongoing learning. This framework is simple and effective, using a points-based system to help participants track their progress and meet industry requirements without disruption.

How Agsafe certification works

Agsafe certification is a three-year cycle designed to ensure ongoing excellence in the safe storage, handling, and management of agricultural chemicals. Participants earn points through a combination of foundational courses and supplementary training, keeping their knowledge current with best practices and legislative requirements.

Starting your training journey

To begin, participants complete one of Agsafe’s major courses, which form the foundation of certification. From there, maintaining certification requires earning points through various training options within the three-year cycle.

Upon completion, participants will have the knowledge required to manage AgVet chemicals safely and in accordance with legal requirements.

    The course is highly interactive, focusing on real-world situations encountered in agricultural merchandise outlets, warehouses, and distribution centres. It is suitable for new starters in the industry as well as seasoned professionals seeking to update their knowledge.

Agsafe AgBytes (1 point each)

Agsafe AgBytes are short, focused online modules designed for professionals seeking to update their knowledge on specific areas of AgVet chemical safety and compliance without committing to a full-day course. Each module, typically lasting 30-45 minutes, focuses on critical aspects of chemical management and is delivered online for convenience. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate, making AgBytes an excellent way to meet continuous professional development requirements. New courses are introduced regularly, ensuring the content remains aligned with industry trends and regulatory changes.

  • This training module provides comprehensive guidance on the safe handling, storage, and use of 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) and PAPP (para-aminopropiophenone) poisons. It is designed for those involved in the application or oversight of vertebrate pest control in agricultural settings, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting best practices to safeguard both human and environmental health.
