ChemClear surpasses milestone: Removes over 1 million litres/kilograms of unused chemicals from Australian farms
ChemClear, Australia's leading chemical waste management program run by Agsafe, proudly announces a significant milestone, having successfully removed over 1 million litres/kilograms of unused chemicals from farms across the country. Established in 2003, ChemClear has been at the forefront of environmentally responsible chemical disposal, providing essential services to farmers and agricultural communities.
Since its inception, ChemClear has consistently demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship by facilitating collections in each state and territory. The program's strategic approach involves conducting main state collections approximately every two years, ensuring regular opportunities for farmers to safely dispose of unused or obsolete AgVet chemicals.
ChemClear's impact extends beyond routine collections, as the program has collaborated with farmers and state governments to provide specialised collections in the aftermath of natural disasters such as floods and cyclones. This initiative underscores ChemClear's dedication to supporting farmers during challenging times and minimising the environmental impact of hazardous chemical waste.
In December 2023, ChemClear achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing the collection of over 1 million litres/kilograms of unused chemicals. This accomplishment highlights the effectiveness and importance of ChemClear in addressing the critical need for responsible disposal practices in the agricultural sector.
"We are immensely proud to announce that ChemClear has successfully removed over 1 million litres/kilograms of unused chemicals from Australian farms, contributing to a safer and more sustainable agricultural landscape," said Alicia Garden, General Manager at Agsafe. "Our commitment to environmental responsibility and collaboration with state governments allows us to make a meaningful impact on both the farming community and the broader ecosystem."
ChemClear remains dedicated to its mission of safeguarding the environment, supporting farmers, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The program looks forward to continuing its valuable contributions to the Australian agricultural sector and fostering a cleaner, safer future.
